Jason is a global information technology and operations leader with a specialty in performing CIO and CTO roles for local and globally based companies of all sizes.
With 20 years experience in technology, marketing, business administration, and team building, Jason crafts solutions that maximize business impact and streamline efficiency through effective technology implementation and smart business structuring.
Jason lives with his wife and six children just outside of Washington DC in Kensington, Maryland and graduated from the George Washington University with a degree in Business Administraton.
Starting his career in web design and development as a contractor serving private and public sector clients including NASA and the Health and Human Services (HHS), he continued his love for web technologies as the Senior Director of Web Marketing and Chair of the Global Web Marketing Committee for the world's first and one of the largest ISPs (PSINet). Focusing on global expansion and acquisitions, Jason established and chaired the Global Web Marketing Committee at PSINet, comprised of senior leadership from 23 countries and provided web marketing and technology strategy that drove the online internet sales and contributed to the rapid success of PSINet.
Pivoting from the private sector to nonprofit in 2002, Jason was recruited to join The Vaccine Fund, a Bill and Melinda Gates funded startup chaired by Nelson Mandela, as the Head of Technology to ensure that every child, everywhere, was ensured equal access to lifesaving vaccines.
Throughout his career at The Vaccine Fund, Jason managed the global technology vision, staffing, and solutions portfolio and was instrumental in the growth of the company from an initial 750M to 7.3B (350M children immunized) over 12 years and an expansion into 73 countries.
In 2005, the Vaccine Fund merged with GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and Jason managed the technology integration as well as moved the European offices from Lyon, France to Geneva, Switzerland. Jason has designed and built multiple offices in Washington, DC, and Geneva and continues to partner closely with the local and international design and architecture community.
Additionally, Jason performed as Special Representative to the GAVI Campaign and launched the GAVI Envoy Program in concert with Mary Robinson (President Ireland) and Bill Roedy (Chairman and CEO MTV).
Jason has managed and technically instrumented high profile meetings and events in Tanzania, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Vietnam, Laos, Europe, the USA, and many others.
After spending time working in Vietnam, Jason and his wife launched Vietnam Relief Services after he was embraced by the locals in rural communities including Cao Cai (Jason was the first westerner to ever set foot there). Vietnam Relief Services focuses on health, education, and disaster relief and is a US based registered 501c3. To date, Vietnam Relief Services has managed to launch clean water initiatives, libraries, playgrounds, and provide food, clothing, bednets and medical supplies to hundreds of thousands throughout northern Vietnam.
In 2013, Jason was recruited by the CEO of the Urban Land Institute to join as the Executive Vice President and CTO.
The Urban Land Institute is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members. Founded in 1936, the Institute represents the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines working in private enterprise and public service.
As the preeminent, multidisciplinary real estate forum, ULI facilitates the open exchange of ideas, information and experience among local, national and international industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better places. The mission of the Urban Land Institute is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), reporting to the CEO, Jason provided global technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of global information technology. Jason lead ULI in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralized business operations and was integral in the growth of the ULI member base from 28,000 to 38,000 members globally.
